Planning note
Book the lake town, then the room
A practical comparison of Como and Garda towns, boat-day arrivals and the view described in your actual offer.
A few things to keep in mind

Make the municipality part of the comparison
Lake Como is not a single hotel district. Palace Hotel and Hilton list Como-town addresses; Hotel Belvedere lists Bellagio; Grand Hotel Tremezzo is in Tremezzina on the western shore. Around Garda, separate Sirmione and Desenzano from Riva del Garda. Write the town beside every room offer before comparing its view.
Check a boat day from the correct pier
Identify the departure pier you intend to use and look up sailings for your actual dates. Include the route from the hotel entrance with luggage and the return after the last outing. Do not treat a hotel across the water as interchangeable with one on the same shore simply because the map distance looks short.
Read the lake-view wording literally
A lakeside property can offer several outlooks and room formats. Compare the category name, balcony or terrace wording, beds and occupancy; the leading photograph may show a different option. If a bungalow, suite or cooking facility matters, confirm the specific format rather than relying on the general hotel description.
Put peninsula access and northern-lake arrival into the rate decision
For a Sirmione stay, confirm the actual car, taxi or luggage approach to the entrance. For Riva del Garda, check your arrival connection before planning several lake stops on the same day. Compare parking terms where relevant, meals included and the cancellation deadline only after the chosen town works for the trip.
